Halifax Friends of Palestine is a new group which has been set up to support the Palestinian cause and to campaign for a peace so shamefully forgotten by those western countries whose policies led to their displacement, and to nearly a century of torment and persecution.

We hold regular meetings in Calderdale, inviting speakers and showing films. We hope, through our education programme, to help young people to understand more about the issues involved. We support campaigns to boycott Israeli goods and services while the illegal occupations, the contempt for United Nations resolutions and the building of the illegal wall continues.

We have fortnightly stalls in Halifax and Hebden Bridge from which we distribute information and spread the message about the emergencies in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank. We are keen to work with other Palestinian solidarity groups in the North of England, to lobby MPs and to campaign for a more balanced coverage of Middle East affairs in both local and national media.
